Stories of Gun Violence from Across America: Art Exhibit and Reception
In collaboration with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, a series of exhibitions and events about the impact of gun violence are taking place across Indianapolis in September and October of 2018. The goal is to not only share the experiences of gun violence survivors and the family members of victims but also highlight the experiences of those who are not typically considered part of the gun violence issue – i.e., members of the clergy, those involved in the criminal justice system, etc – as they have their own unique story to tell as well… the so-called “second hand smoke” of this epidemic.
The work isn’t about politics or policy, or 2nd Amendment rights vs gun control. It’s about showing our audience that – despite what they may believe – we’re all but one or two degrees of separation from this crisis. It’s about honest storytelling – and bringing stories of trauma, grief, and strength to life – without agenda.
Roots of Life is hosting the Noblesville event at Noblesville City Hall on September 24. Additional details here.

Earth Day at Roots
Come celebrate Earth Day with us!
We will begin with worship at 10:30ish, as usual. We will hear from Adam and Claire of Bent Arrow Acres about how our food choices can help us better care for creation, and then, following worship, we will have a short cooking class with Claire and Sara about how we can use and stretch our food dollars for good. There will also be an opportunity to purchase pastured chicken and pork from Bent Arrow Acres.
